Melissa Rose Bickerstaff (born February 6, 1983), better known as Melrose Bickerstaff, was a contestant on cycle 7 of ANTM in 2006, where she was the runner-up.

Early Life[]

Melrose grew up in West Bloomfield Township, Michigan, and graduated from West Bloomfield High School in 2001. While in high school, she was active in theater and was also a member of the ski team. She graduated from The Art Institute of California - San Francisco with a degree in fashion design, where she was named "Best of Show" and "Most Creative" in the 2003 annual student fashion show.

Before appearing on Top Model, she worked as a fashion designer.

ANTM[]

On the series, Bickerstaff went by "Melrose," claiming she removed the "issa" from her first name because she "didn't need it".[1] Throughout the cycle, Melrose was not well-liked by the other contestants, dubbing her "Smell-rose". This was later revealed to E!, as well as determined by fan consensus, as selective editing.

Melrose's biggest rival was Monique, who acted out against her in at least three instances during the series. Melrose hit Monique with the phone door, to which Monique intentionally bumped into her while walking out the phone room. Monique later flicked dirty water into Melrose's face and rubbed her dirty panties on Melrose's bed.

Another one of Melrose's foes on the series, Eugena, said that the two were actually friends, and comments said about Melrose that were attributed to Eugena were taken out of context.

After the cycle, Melrose made a guest appearance on cycle 8, episode seven, where she helped give girls nicknames.

Post-Show[]

Melrose was signed to Bleu Model Management, Edge Model Management, Brand Model and Talent Agency,[2] L.A. Models, Spin Models, Leni's Model Management London and Ice Model Management Cape Town. She signed to Storm Model Management in late 2007.

Melrose has done advertisements for Scoop NYC, Jack Rabbit Belts, and Beau Soleil Fall 2007 Collection, as well as walked the runways at London Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2008 for designer Aminika Wilmot.

In February 2007, Melrose was a featured model in Malan Breton's ready to wear show at New York Fashion Week. Her working relationship with Breton continued when she appeared with him at the GLAAD Media Awards wearing one of his dresses one month later. In April 2007, she also appeared in New York's Tartan Week with Ivanka Trump and Marcus Schenkenberg.

Personal Life[]

She announced that she would help design clothes for former "Lost" cast member Michelle Rodriguez's fledgling clothing line, Ishkidada. The next month, E! Online and TMZ reported rumors that Melrose and actor Jeremy Piven had started a romance, but was later retracted by the latter source.[3]

In 2020/21, she declined to do a live with Oliver Twixt because she didn't like what he said about her on a live with Anchal. After he offered her an apology, she left him on "seen".

Trivia[]

  • Melrose was almost disqualified for hitting Monique with the phone door, but producers reviewed the tape and ruled it an accident.
